Supporting our school through advocacy, fundraising, and community building.
School Council – A means for parents and community members to work together with administration, staff and students to promote well-being and overall effectiveness of the school community. The main role is advisory and information exchange.
Parent Society – A means for parents and community members to provide additional financial resources and support the school. Main role is fundraising. The purpose of the Louis Riel School Society is to plan and implement fund-raising activities on behalf of the Louis Riel School Council to enhance educational resources for students. The society was incorporated under the Alberta Societies Act, July 3 1990.
What we do
Advocate
The Council provides a voice for our parents/caregivers and student communities, advocating for their needs.
Communicate
Promote dialog between parents/caregivers and educators.
Share news and information about strategies for education and learning styles.
Provide a space for parents/caregivers to meet with educators to learn about important programs, results and initiatives happening in the school.
Raise Funds
The Society enables our school raise funds to obtain materials and experiences that provide high quality education, enrichment, new challenges and a broadening of student’s horizons.
